Natural Wonder and Rich Culture of Sarawak
From pristine beaches to vast rainforests, Sarawak is a region that has it all. The rugged, natural environment of the region has been fiercely protected and preserved, ensuring that visitors will be able to appreciate the raw, unspoiled beauty of Borneo. Kuching, the capital of Sarawak, is a bustling city situated on the Sarawak River. It is home to several attractions, including markets, museums, and a variety of outdoor activities. Come explore Sarawak today and see what makes it such a special place.
Arrive Kuching International Airport. Meet and transfer to your hotel in city waterfront in Sarawak’s capital city, Kuching. Take your time to explore the riverfront and the inner city with its side streets.
Kuching Waterfront, which lines the south bank of the Sarawak River, is a place to sample the city's cosmopolitan vibes. During the day, it offers scenic views of the Astana, Fort Margherita and the Malay kampungs across the river; but the best time to enjoy the Waterfront is after sunset, when the vibrant nightlife takes over the esplanade.
After breakfast at the hotel, transfer to visit Semenggoh Orang Utan Reserve, by far the biggest Orangutan Rehabilitation Centre in Sarawak. The centre serves as a habitat for the Orangutans and also a place for visitors to learn about this endangered rare species. This wildlife centre has a thriving population of healthy adolescent and young adult semi-wild Orangutans. Semenggoh Nature Reserve is also a habitat for rare flora and fauna, including the giant squirrel, pigmy squirrel, gibbons, and a variety of birds, making the nature reserve an ideal place for nature lovers. Besides, visitors will also have an opportunity to interact with the orangutans as they will swing down from trees for a free hand out of fruits during feeding time.
Adjourn to the Sarawak Cultural Village for lunch. Sarawak's living museum, the Sarawak Cultural Village is the best destination to learn about the diverse communities and cultures in Sarawak. Visitors to the village will be given a cutural passport which they can stamp at the different houses highlighting each ethnic group in Sarawak. There are also scheduled cultural performances every day, which is definitely the highlight of the visit.
Return to your hotel to rest and freshen up. Explore the nightlife of Kuching with its plethora of restaurants offering fusion local and international food.
